Koena Mitra scores full marks in her very first act

Though the wild card entry of Bollywood sexy siren Koena Mitra made other contestants upset it truly is the wake- up time for all of them. The actress scored full marks during her maiden performance on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3. A source from the show informs that she set the stage on fire and her chemistry with her choreographer Himanshu was complimented by all and sundry.

Our source informs, "Koena is an incredible dancer. She shares a fantastic chemistry with Himanshu which beautifies their performance all the more. Koena is so dedicated towards her work and she was like an alarm for others.”

Source also informed that last week’s highest scorer Monica Bedi could not do well this time and ended up as the lowest scorer. Even Parul Chauhan who was appreciated by the judges last week couldn’t do very well this time.

When asked, ace choreographer and judge Saroj Khan said, “Yes, It is true that Koena was the highest scorer of the episode. She really danced well. I don’t know what went wrong with Monica that she became the lowest scorer but sometimes it happens."

“We are only judges, we have nothing to do with the contestants. It is not our concern to discuss about the background of the person, whether or not she has been a part of the show earlier. It's the producers look out and not ours. So it doesn’t matter if Koena has not been a part of the show earlier. She is in now and we will judge her,” commented Saroj Khan when asked about the strange wild card entry.

Seems like the remaining contestants need to pull up their socks to match upto the new entrant.

Jhalak… was a challenge for me-Mohinder Amarnarth

Mohinder 'Jimmy' Amarnarth has always lived life in style. Even during his cricketing days, he was known to be different from the rest. Be it his slow medium pace bowling, unique batting stance or the ultra-heavy bat -- Jimmy was always the odd man out. A lot of his popularity can be attributed to his being 'different' from the rest. But at the same time, he was Mr Dependable as well. Team India could rely on him always during any crisis situation -- be it the 1983 Prudential Cup or the test matches that followed, with West Indies. At 60, and on an entirely different playground (the stage of Jhalak), Jimmy still retains his charm, energy and enthusiasm. Despite being voted out last week, he still is the gentleman a cricketer is always expected to be. Source spoke to him on a variety of topics, including Jhalak...

The obvious question first -- what made you say yes when Jhalak was offered to you?

I love challenges. I strongly believe that if we take on challenges life has much better things in store for us. So, when Jhalak was first offered to me, I saw it as a challenge and immediately decided to take it up. Of course, there were different thoughts going on in my mind and even my family was doubtful whether I would be able to do justice to my reputation or not. But after a lot of debates and discussions, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. My daughter Nikki -- who is a walking dictionary of Bollywood -- played a key role in my decision making!

Though I had never learned dancing or danced on stage, like any other Indian, I had danced during marriage ceremonies and other parties. With that confidence I went ahead, and I don't regret my decision!

What is the best memory you are carrying back from Jhalak…?

I think the respect I got from everyone associated with the show is something I will never forget. Specially the three judges who were supportive even when I made some wrong steps. I don't think I would have come this far without their active encouragement.

But I think the most memorable event was when I entered Jhalak House for the first time. In an impromptu session, everyone started dancing to their favourite tunes. I started dancing to a Punjabi tune, and before I knew, everyone had joined me. That was really nice and I felt very warm at their gesture.

One big learning from this show was how each contestant, despite being in a stiff competition, is on good terms with each other. Everyone is vying for the same title, but cheering each other up as well. This really went a long way in motivating people like me to put in my best during every performance.

You must be feeling sad at being voted out?

I am not sad, since that is the rule of the game. Throughout my cricketing career, I have accepted the decision of the umpire gracefully, whether I have liked it or not. Jhalak… was no different. I feel I have done pretty well on the show and am very happy.

Who do you think will win the contest this time?

I feel the person who will remain fit and healthy and show consistency till the end of the show will win. A reality show is all about hard work, determination, mental and physical strength. I feel, Gauhar Khan is a very good dancer. Hard Kaur is also very good and has a slight edge because of her musical sense. She can feel the music much better than the rest and perform accordingly.

Talking about Hard Kaur, she has a very interesting relation with you...

She is an amazing girl. It is really sad how people misjudge her by seeing her tough exterior. She has a very soft heart and I am really overwhelmed at her showing so much respect for me and considering me like her father. Hard is full of energy always, and I have never seen her sitting quietly anywhere! May God bless her.

Moving to cricket, what is your opinion on IPL moving out of India?

I don't want to comment because I am not sure whether it deserves so much attention, hype and hoopla! At the same time, I must say, if it is the Indian Premier League, it should happen in India. Cricket is like a religion in India and I don't think anywhere else people are so fanatic about the game.

Are you watching the cricket matches happening currently?

Actually I am not a good spectator! I am not following the India New Zealand matches. I am more of a player than a spectator. I prefer reading and listening to music to watching cricket.

Parul injured but not down

Parul Chauhan who is currently managing two shows is finding it difficult to cope up with fatigue. The actress shuttles from one set to another to catch up with the shoot of Bidaai and tiring rehearsals of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3. Now we all are aware about the actress’ fainting spells due to lack of sleep but the latest is that she has sprained her ankle. But even the excruciating pain couldn’t deter the actress from having a gala time at the success party of Rajan Shahi’s Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Parul who attended the party despite the pain said, “I already have a problem with my legs. Since my bones are weak I can’t afford to stand for long hours at a stretch. This injury of mine is because of the tedious hours of practice. My last performance required me to do many lifts as a result of which I was injured.”

“I don’t wear anything except heels but because of this injury I am reduced to wearing flats. I had gone today to buy these flat sandals and trust me it feels a little awkward as I just wear heels,” adds the actress.

But the ordeal doesn’t end here. Parul has been busy like a bee and as a result she has to do away with her beauty sleep. She informs, “I am running from one shoot to another. I hardly get time to sleep and most of the time I just sleep for two hours a day. The stress is reflected on my face now.”

Gear up for more Parul! This is just the beginning of a star’s life.

Mohinder Amarnath Eliminated from Jhalak Dikhhala Jaa Seasion 3

One of the favorites gets ousted this week in Jhalak. And also get in here to know the surprise of surprises that Jhalak House has to offer to the viewers and contestants...

Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa loses a crowd-puller and favorite of all, the dashing cricketer Mohinder Amarnath this week!.

According to our source, "Amarnath and the Chak De girl Shilpa Shukla found themselves in the bottom two. The cricketer was the one to perform first, but his performance said it all, as he did not even try to give his cent percent to the act. It looked as though he knew that he was going to be the person going out this time, and lacked the energy and co-ordination in the act. It was very disappointing to see such a talented person give up even before results were announced. On the other hand, Shilpa who gave a mediocre performance earlier put up a brave fight. She had the right attitude and performed with a do-or-die spirit. She performed far better than her first performance for the episode, and it was very evident that she was the clear winner. All the three judges voted for Shilpa, but found it tough to eliminate Amarnath from the competition".

Shilpa emerged successful for the second time in the Face-Off and stays on to continue her battle in the Jhalak House.

"All got emotional while bidding good bye to the very sportive and gentlemanly figure of Amarnath. Even the judges were moved to a certain extent", informs our source.

Another big surprise that Jhalak House has in store for viewers as well as contestants the coming week is the entry of Koena Mitra as Wild Card entrant, as reported by our scoure.

However, there is a twist in the tale, and giving its ardent readers an exclusive news on this is our Khabroo. "Koena Mitra will be shown entering Jhalak as the Wild Card entry the coming Friday, but the fact is that this will be a prank played by the production house and channel on the contestants as well as viewers.. Well, yes, you heard it right!!! Koena will just grace the Friday's episode as a celebrity judge and will burn the dance floor with her stunning performance, and will NOT be entering Jhalak as contestant. This prank had been made up to surprise all on the occasion of April Fool's Day... ", explains our reliable source.

Did you believe that Koena is sure to enter?? Well, Well, looks like the prank indeed worked, isn't it?? As for now, we wish Amarnathji all the very best...

Koena Mitra to enter Jhalak House as Wild Card

Well, in a surprising turn of events, The Jhalak House will see Koena Mitra entering the show next week as Wild Card..

If the goings on inside the Jhalak house, where all the contestants are under observation were not spicy enough, then Bongshell Koena Mitra's entry into Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa next week is going to be hotter than a dal tadka.

Mitra will be making a wild card entry in the show. She has already entered the Jhalak house and caused quite a stir among the contestants who don't seem to be too happy to see her.

While the wild card entry is usually announced among the eliminated contestants, looks like the channel isn't too keen on having already ousted participants like Bhagyashree, Ugesh Sarkar and Anand Raaj Anand back into the fold.

Monica Bedi has already expressed her displeasure over Koena's entry. "It's unfair on us to get someone who's a trained dancer." Well, well with hardly any films on hand and known more for her penchant of being in the news for her nose-job and other sundry controversies, Koena badly needs all the publicity and of course a job!

And not to forget, the spice she will (hopefully) add to the show.

Karan grover's 4th dance performence in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 (27th march,2009)

Jai-Veeru of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3

The unique 'Dostana' of our very own Jai and Veeru, aka Karan and Ram has been the talk of Jhalak House now...

Sony's Jhalak House is literally on fire when the Jai-Veeru team gets together!! One is the portly actor who was seen in serious roles and the other one, who is known for muscles and rakish roles. Yes, we are talking about Ram Kapoor and Karan Singh Grover who have nothing in common, but still get along very well.

"Well, they share a great friendship and they are a complete riot when together. They break the rules together, and even help each other when it comes to penalty paying time. Together we call them the Jai-Veeru of Jhalak House", explains our source from the sets.

So does their Dostana end here? "As of now, Ram is proving his mastery at dancing, but it comes with a price – pain in the back. So who does Ram turn to in the middle of the night for help? Karan, of course!! A midnight call was all it took for quick relief for that horrendous back ache, and now the two are brothers in arms", quips our source.

"While Karan feels lonely in the absence of Ram, and keeps lamenting 'Ram, I miss you', 'I love you', Ram has even gone a step ahead and nick-named Karan as his 'Chamiya'", adds our khabroo.

Ask Ram about this, and he replies in his own style, "No Dostana here!! We are both happily married guys"….

Gauhar Khan: Laughing away her blues!

It was a red letter day on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3. Gauhar Khan was laughing for the first time! Even before the show went on air, Gauhar Khan has been the one person who has been having problems galore with co-contestants coming late (not affecting her at all), with her choreographer Hanif Hilal (who she thought wasn't good enough for her), with other contestants scoring more than her and the work of other choreographers (not her business). She has had problems of this nature and more. She has been giving grief to one and all and then ends up crying the most on camera.

So it came as a very pleasant surprise to the judges and the audience when she laughed! Not for long. When Vaibhavi Merchant praised her performance she started crying.Juhi Chawla had a valuable suggestion -- she should be an actress because she would not need glycerin.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Why did Ram make a midnight call to Karan?

Jhalak’s Ram Kapoor and Karan Grover may look like they have nothing in common but they do. A great friendship, together they are a riot. They are like the new “Jai-Veeru” team and were together in breaking the rules at the Jhalak House. They helped each other with the penalty too. Now Ram is proving his mastery at dancing but it comes with a price – pain in the back. So who does Ram turn too in the middle of the night for help? Karan, of course. A midnight call was all it took for quick relief for that alarming back ache and now the two are brothers in arms. “No Dostana here!” warns Ram. “We are both happily married guys!”

I will be a much better judge next time – Anand Raj Anand

Well known music director , Anand Raj Anand is the latest evictee from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Howe ever he seems to be pretty cool about his exit.” At the end there will have to be only winner right. Every week somebody has to go, so this Saturday I went out, but next time it will be somebody else’s chance to face the music “.

Q. What went wrong?

A. Nothing, it’s just that I was not mentally ready to be a part of the face off round again. I had broken my back preparing for the next round. Hence when I did perform on my old number, the disappointment showed on my face and the judges caught it.

But all said and done, I have no regrets. I am overwhelmed by the love and affection that people have showered on me in the last 3 weeks. It’s well known by now that the only reason why I took part in Jhalak was to make my daughter happy. She wanted me to come in front of the whole world. I had promised her that I will last at least till the 6th round, but now I am telling her that the effort each round took was equal to 6 episodes, so I have lasted 18 episodes.

Q. Were you a bit afraid of facing humiliation, if things went wrong?

A. No, this is not a competition of dancers. So all it really boils down is to who is less bad among the crowd. And I am in that stage of my life where I am not competing with anybody else. I am quite secure as a music director and this is just one more facet of life that I am exploring.

Q. Do you think that because you don’t appear too much on television, it worked against you?

A. I agree that I landed in the Face Off due to lesser votes. Some of the sympathy factor’s like Ram Kapoor dancing despite being fat or Mohinder Amarnath being old, did not apply to me. Karan Singh Grower on the other hand has woman swooning all over him. I was regarded as a proper dancer. I also feel that we artists are not so good at management.

Q. Your equation with your choreographer Rosita?

A. It rocked because I clearly told that she will have to forget my celebrity status, if we have to stand a chance. She was really good. My grand dad would always tell me to tolerate the attitudes of talented artist. We have had our share of differences, but they were in the heat of the moment.

Q. You had first taken part as a judge (Junoon Kuchh Kar Dikhaane Ka, NDTV Imagine) in a reality show now participant?

A. I now understand that even the participants have a valid point of view. Hence I will be a much better judge, next time, if given a chance. As for the current judges, I have nothing against them but yes I would have hoped for better marking.

Q. What observation’s have you made?

A. It’s more easier for female celebs for their choreographer’s can easily lift and control them but in our(men) case, its tough for even if Rosita did teach me to lift, we being so clumsy, we will not know what to do next.

Q. What have you taken home from Jhalak?

A. I always knew that as a result of the rigorous physical exercise, even I don’t build the abbs, I will surely loose my flab. And it has happened. Ask anybody what they feel after loosing those extra kilos and seeing the shine return on their faces. I will never be able to thank Jhalak enough for giving me this chance.

Q. Can you sing a song of yours to describe your 3 weeks in Jhalak?

A. I will only sing, Daga Nahi Denge Sanam Phadke Ke Rakh Denge…This will also apply, if we do return as wild card.

Gauhar accuses Shilpa of copying

Things are getting fishy in the Season 3 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as contestants accuse each other...Again in the limelight is Gauhar Khan...
Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 3 opened up with a controversy looming large between Gauhar Khan and her choreographer, Hanif Hilal. Now Gauhar is again at the thick of things, as she recently accused Chak De girl Shilpa Shukla of copying steps in the last episode.

According to our khabroo, "Shilpa scored a perfect 30 last week for her performance on the number 'Zinda Hoon Main', and this irked Gauhar who felt that injustice was done to her, as she fell short of Shilpa in the race".

Trouble began when after the shoot of last week's episode Gauhar accused Shilpa of copying steps. She pointed to the fact that the same steps were used by Mouli Ganguly and Mazher for the same song in Nach Baliye 4. "Gauhar was heard saying that Karishma who choreographed for Mouli and Mazher in Nach, assists Nishant who is now the choreographer of Shilpa", adds our source.

"Gauhar went on to say that the act of Shilpa was so similar to the duo's act in the Star Plus show. They had scored the highest for their act and here too, Shilpa scored the maximum", concludes our source.

Well, this is the bitter 'reality' of reality shows, isn't it?

Baichung’s Rumba gives him full 30 points

This week the judges took a serious decision. Juhi Chawla announced that the judges would be stricter with the scores. Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 3 is now gaining momentum and the contestants need to pull who claims her dancing, has rusted after the long break away from the limeligup their socks and take the competition seriously. Unlike other weeks this week, there were not one but three superb performances that had the judges asking for more. Monica Bedi seems to have been jolted out of her complacency after being at the bottom last week. She gave a scintillating Rumba performance which fetched her full marks from the judges. She was followed by Baichung Bhutia’s Rumba – least expected to work any wonders—but his amazing performances got him full 30 from the judges apart from the hugs and kisses that is! Parul Chauhan with her International Freestyle simply lifted everybody’s spirits. She missed full marks by a whisker.

It now appears that the competition will be exciting.

Karan and Nicole's soul-stirring act.

The duo presented a touching act which had a great concept, but their delight was cut short by Saroj Khan..
Karan looked the 'real' Prince while Nicole was his Princess Charming as the duo gave a very touching performance this week in Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

According to our source, "They performed on the song 'Khuda Jaane' of Bachna Ae Haseeno and the concept was on the 26/11 Taj Attack. The performance was so touching that it brought tears to the eyes of Vaibhavi".

But the 'Electric Pair' did not get good marks especially from Saroj Khan. "While Vaibhavi applauded their performance and said that it genuinely touched her heart, and that there was purity in the performance, Saroj Khan begged to differ from the other choreo. Even though all present thought that the concept was superb and was very well executed too, Saroj Khan was not happy with the lifts and said that there was nothing new in the lifts", adds our source.

"To the disappointment of Karan and Nicole, Saroj Khan who had first given 8 marks changed her decision and decided to stick to 6 while Vaibhavi gave them 9 and Juhi gave them 8, thus taking their overall tally to a not-so-good 23", concludes our source.

To watch the soul-touching act of Karan and Shraddha, Watch Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa On Friday, March 27 at 9 pm Only on Sony Entertainment Television.

Third elimination on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Seasion 3

This time another contestant bid adieu to the stage of Jhalak... Read further...
Well its time for another contestant of Jhalak to bid adieu to the stage of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, season 3. The unlucky participant this week was Anand Raj Anand who could not win the hearts of junta and judges.

Accourding to our khabroo, "Monica Bedi was in the bottom two with Anand Raj Anand. It was a tough competition when the two danced but suddenly Anand blanked out leaving everyone in miff."

"His choreographer continued to perform while he stood straight in confusion. Everybody including Vaibhavi tried to cheer him up but their efforts failed and this musician cum singer failed to perform," adds the source.

Anand took his elimination very sportingly."It seems he knew about it and took his removal with a smile. Though judges and other participants felt bad for him," chirps our birdie.

It's survival of the fittest...truly said!!!

Shilpa gets a perfect 30 Marks

Shilpa Shukla and Nishant scored the highest in the coming episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa..
Bindiya aka Shilpa Shukla of Chak De fame got a shock earlier in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3

"Shilpa stood out as a hard nut with her mind blowing performance in the coming episode of Jhalak. The actress proved her self as tough girl," says our khabroo from the sets.

"Her magical 'Zinda Hoon Main' act got her a perfect 30 from judges, and for the first time ever Saroj Khan gifted money to both the contestant and the choreographer, the talented youngster Nishant Kamath", adds our source.

The gutsy Shilpa was heard saying, "Last time we were among the bottom two. Though we won the dance off, we wanted to prove how much we deserve this platform and also score 30 marks".

The battle for supremacy on the Jhalak floor is indeed getting tougher now!!

Catch the action on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa – Dancing with the stars 3 On Friday, March 20 at 9.00 pm Only on Sony Entertainment.

Parul Chauhan unplugged...

exclusive chit-chat with the birthday girl, Parul Chauhan...
Parul Chauhan who essays the role of Ragini in Star Plus' Sapna Babul Ka.. BidaaiMarch 19th. Ali Merchant and Sara Khan threw a lavish party for the birthday girl yesterday night at Mint N Ice, Juhu.

On this occasion, we had an exclusive chit-chat with the birthday girl, Parul..

Many happy returns on this day… So how are you feeling as you celebrate your birthday for the first time in Mumbai?
I am feeling really good, as this is the birthday bash from my hard-earned money. Last year we were busy shooting, so could not celebrate it in a grand way. So happy to be enjoying the day this time around!!

My parents had a dream that one day I should celebrate my birthday in such a grand manner with my earned moolah. After seeing these footages on television, they will start crying for sure. Today I really feel proud of myself as I am able to fulfill their dreams. My parents dreamed of me becoming independent, and today I am.

So are you missing your family a lot on this special day?

I have not met my dad since two years and feel like going home and meeting him. But with this hectic schedule of Bidaai and Jhalak, it is just not possible. After Jhalak I have requested my Bidaai people to give me ten days off so that I can go and meet my family. I am ready to work day and night to complete the shooting schedule, but I eagerly want to see my dad. He is a Government officer and cannot take out time to come here. Having said this, my on screen family is so much like my own family that I am happy to be with them.

What is the one wish that you want to be fulfilled?
It will be that whatever I wish from my heart now comes true (grins).

What are your plans on your birthday?

Well there is nothing much. In the morning, I will be going for my rehearsals for Jhalak and then will cross over to the sets of Bidaai. This is the only reason I have kept my party post night so that I could celebrate my birthday with my friends and co-stars. Lots of people came, and made my day with their blessings and best wishes. I am grateful to one and all (smiles).

How did you manage time out of your hectic schedule to arrange a pre-birthday bash?
This is not arranged by me, but by my brother Ali Merchant and Sara Khan. I don't even know much of Mumbai, so all the credit of arrangements go to them. I'm really thankful to both of them for giving me such a grand celebration.

What gifts have you received from your friends?
Ali has arranged this special party for me. Sara gave me a cute teddy and two cute T-shirts and many more gifts are on the way (laughs).

Any message for your fans?

I would just like to thank them for their good wishes. Keep loving me and my show in the same way, and hope to see you support and love me in future too.

Fan Woes on Jhalak

The voting format of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 3 does not allow international viewers to cast their votes for their favorites, and this has created an unrest!! Read here..
Season 3 of Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has a good varied mix when it comes to the celebrities taking part in the show!! The season has taken off on a good note, but the international fans of popular contestants are upset with the voting format as it does not allow them to vote for their favorite.

According to our source, "The channel and the production house have been receiving innumerable requests in form of fan mails and calls asking them to give the international viewers an opportunity to cast votes. Their inability to vote is in a way holding them back and they are livid with the situation".

"Contestants like Ram Kapoor, Hard Kaur, Karan Singh Grover, Parul Chauhan and many others have a huge fan following outside India, and fans from all over have been extremely disappointed by the move taken by the channel regarding the voting system", our source explains further.

Our source informs us that, "The channel and the production house BBC are aware of the situation and they are actually contemplating on this. But nothing has been decided yet".

If sources are to be believed, we might see international voting too as the show goes on, but whether it will happen or not, only time will tell!!

We tried contacting an official in BBC, who asked us to talk to the channel. When we called Sony for more info on this, they were not ready to comment.

As of now, the voting is restricted only to India and that too only thro' landlines and mobile. Even the online voting facility has not been provided for viewers in India.

Will the wishes of international fans be granted or not, is the million dollar question now!!

Karan singh grover's 13 march, 2nd performence in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3

Electric Pair: Karan and Nicole

After their scintillating performance last week, the duo came up with an average act this week...
Karan Singh Grover and his partner Nicole are given the title of 'Electric pair' in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Season 3. After securing near-perfect scores of 29 from the judges last week, the duo came up with an average performance this week, which left the judges asking for more!!

"They chose international freestyle dancing but had a co-ordination problem which upset the judges," says our khabroo.

Though the pair did score fairly well when it came to marks, they did not live up to the expectations they set last time. "They got 25 out of 30 from judges, but Vaibhavi and Saroj pointed to the fact that their synchronization went all wrong", adds the source.

According to our source, "There were some last minute changes made in Karan's steps, which affected his overall performance. Karan was skeptical about the changes and was upset too before he performed".

The duo used an umbrella as their prop which actually saved them. "Saroj Khan liked the way they used umbrella in the dance and also stated that it was unique. Vaibhavi told Nicole that being a choreographer, she could not afford to falter in co-ordination and she was the one who had to correct Karan and get the best out of him", adds our source.

Juhi was happy with their performance though. "She even went on to say that the duo was an electric pair and gave them good comments", concludes the source.

Well time will only decide whether this electric pair will be able to give more shocks to the janta and judges!!

Monica Bedi laid low by BP

She’s come through hell but definitely not unscathed. After what Monica Bedi has gone through, it’s only bound to affect her health. Apparently, Monica Bedi suffers from blood pressure. The rigorous demands of a dance reality show like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 are now taking a toll on the actor’s body.

A little birdie from the sets informs, “Monica suffers from low BP. She starts to feel giddy after rehearsing for a while. As a result she takes periodic breaks. Also, she regularly sips limejuice so as to ease her pressure.”

We tried contacting Monica but in vain. Perhaps, we’d let the pretty Bedi rest.

Parul is no more a desi girl

Gone is the sari and the demure “bahu” (Ragini of Bidaai) image. Parul Chauhan had everyone shocked with her new western look as she opened the show on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3. In friday's episode, the contestants show their skills in Latin American dancing styles. Parul’s Samba performance required the youngster to don a style she has never tried in her entire life. Coming from a middle-class background and straight into Bidaai to play a role almost earmarked for her, this western makeover comes as a complete turnaround. When the 'Teen deviyaan' asked her how she felt in the red halter dress, Parul earnestly replied "This is the first time I am wearing a dress like this and I like it!" Her choreographer Deepak needs to take a bow—first he turned Prachi Desai from a weeping willow into a glamorous winner and now is about to take Parul down the same alley.

From the girl who had never heard of salsa and samba to the girl who is ready to rock the floor Parul has come a long way. So will Parul ring in her birthday on 19th March with some jazz, pizzazz and salsa?

Jhalak bids adieu to...second elimination in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

The second elimination in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa came as a big shocker... Read here..
The male contestants surely did perform better than the fairer sex this week in Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. After Bhagyashree's exit last week, this week's Elimination Special on Saturday sees yet another shocker of a result as the very adorable magician Ugesh Sarcar gets unlucky this time.

According to our source, "Ugesh and Anand Raj Anand were in the bottom two and had to go thro' the Face-Off where they perform on their previous act again. While Anand Raj came up with a steady performance, Ugesh who performed marvelously well in the episode, forgot his steps and the entire act got bit weird. This made the judges' decision easier, as the choreographer duo Saroj Khan and Vaibhavi voted for Anand Raj Anand. When it was Juhi's turn, she was heard saying that it was fair enough that Anand Raj Anand stays in the race, now that Ugesh forgot his steps in the face-off".

Ugesh Sarcar performed on the Hrithik number and got into the skin of the character so well in the episode that the judges had then praised him for his body language and the sensational magic cum dance that he exhibited. But it was indeed a sad moment when Ugesh could not reproduce the same magic on stage in the Face-Off.

The very talented magician will surely be missed on the Jhalak stage...

From next week onwards, the journey gets tougher in the Jhalak House as the contestants get to perform on various International dance forms. Unlike the last two weeks, both the male and female contestants will be seen grooving next Friday.

Karan Singh's Kismat Konnection...

Karan Singh Grover and Nicole seem to be making waves in the Jhalak House with their lethal combination...
Karan Singh Grover who is seen in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 3 and his famous choreographer Nicole seem to be making waves in the Jhalak House with their lethal combination, so much so that their closeness is certainly raising few questions now!!

As per our khabroo from the sets, "The two are a deadly combination when together on Jhalak. No wonder Karan's wife Shraddha Nigam has started dropping in at their rehearsals, and that too unannounced".

"Since the show started, the 'Charcha' of these two has been on. In the coming episode, the BT shown will be evidence enough, as Karan is caught giving a peck on Nicole's cheeks", adds our source.

Well, to top it all, Shraddha remains at the sets these days to give company to the duo, and also renders her valuable suggestions on dance too. "No wonder the guy who scored the lowest last week went on to bag the highest marks this week. Not only, did he get Rs. 101 from judge Saroj Khan, but also three whistles from the 'Teen deviyan' (Saroj, Juhi and Vaibhavi) who were very impressed with the act", chirps our little birdie.

With a great performance under their belt, Karan and Nicole are not complaining at all about Shraddha's intrusion during rehearsals, but wonder what the other contestants feel as they see Karan being helped by not one, but two beautiful women in the Jhalak House!!

Don't miss Karan's Salman Act this Friday, March 13th at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television..

Amarnath does Big B on Jhalak...

The ex-cricketer shows his talent on the dance floor as he dons the look of Big B...
It's not just Karan Singh Grover or Baichung Bhutia on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 who have made girls go weak in their knees. Well the senior most, Mohinder Amarnath is also in the race!!

"He is not only the most popular gentleman amongst the contestants and audience, but also with women of all ages, shapes and sizes", quips our source.

In the coming episode he dons the look of Amitabh Bachchan. "If he looked a very handsome sardarji last week, then this week he could give Bachchan Senior a run for his money".

"With his innovative looks, Shayrana andaz and his absolute charm and above all, the cricketing fraternity determined to vote for him, even the judges were amazed at his performance and gave him good marks", adds the source.

The judges added that he is improving a lot and is very eager to learn too. "He has lots of patience and he is picking up fast too", concludes the khabroo.

With this, Amarnath is surely going to steal hearts and votes in a big way!

Ram Kapoor grooves with Juhi

After turning down many television offers Juhi Chawla is now happy and content with her own decision of judging a dance based reality show Jhalak Dhikla Jaa 3.

It is now clear to everyone what Gautami saw in Ram Kapoor when she agreed to marry this roly-poly man. He is a complete riot on the sets of Jhalak… When it comes to dancing he is the man who claimed to have two left feet but it was a complete surprise when he did a SRK dressed like Suri of Rab Ne Bana di Jodi.

His act also inspired Juhi so much that she willingly joined him on the dance floor and they both set the stage on fire by performing a dance number Banke tera jogi from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

At the end of it Juhi cried aloud, “Punjab Power has lit our lives!” While Ram concluded with his final word "Everytime something good happens to me, I wake my wife and daughter from their sleep to share my happiness. Tonight I won't let them sleep ... I danced with Juhi Chawla!!!"

Watch this on Jhalak Dhikla Jaa 3, 13th march at 9.00 pm.

10 Qs with Monica Bedi

What are your plans for Holi?
I have not celebrated Holi for a long time, but this time, I’m going to Khandala with my friends. I
Monica Bedi
Monica Bedi More Pics
don’t really enjoy colours but my naughty friends make sure that I’m covered from head to toe with colour.

What does Jhalak Dikhla Jaa mean to you?
It means a lot. It’s a learning cum dancing school where I’m being paid a good amount to learn new steps and dance forms. I’m learning different dance forms — the salsa, the rambha, etc.

Tell us about your practice sessions... what are your chances of winning?
It’s the channel that decides the song. I rehearse between two to four hours, depending on the song. And, it’s really not about winning, but facing the challenge.

Why don’t you let your choreographer speak up on the show?
He is a very nice and clean-hearted person. I just don’t want people to misunderstand him. So, I ask him not to comment on others as they may feel offended.

Who are your toughest competitors?
It’s too early to say, because some may be good in one dance form but not another. Some may be good in Bollywood style but not in Western, so one can’t really say at this point. It’s just been four episodes and they haven’t showed their skills yet.

Which is more exciting, Big Boss or Jhalak...?
They are both very different... in Big Boss, you had to be yourself and do some household work, while Jhalak... demands a lot of hard work and commitment.

Are you in touch with Rahul Mahajan and have you watched his show?
No, I’m so busy that I haven’t met any of my co-participants from Big Boss. I haven’t had the time to catch his show either.

How has Big Boss helped you?
It has helped me a lot. It’s thanks to Big Boss that people’s perception of me has changed. I’ve got many new assignments due to it, Jhalak... being one of them. It was a perfect comeback for me.

Who’s your favourite participant in Jhalak...?
I really like Mohinder Ji’s dancing. His expressions are too cute and, even at this age, he is so flexible. He is just like a father figure.

Who’s your favourite judge?
I like all three of them, they are very honest and unbiased.

First elimination in Jhalak House...

JDJ3 gives you an exclusive sneak peak on the first elimination on the show…
Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 has just taken off, but the show will see its first elimination today. Well oh well, the result turned out to be a complete shocker as one of the promising contestant, Bhagyashree along with her talented choreographer Toby was ousted today.

Our little birdie from the production house chirps that, "Ms. Tantrum queen will be eliminated in today's episode. Shilpa Shukla was there with her in the bottom two".

In the episode, the judges cast their votes to decide the elimination. "The bottom two again performed on the same songs. Saroj said that Bhagyashree was better today and my vote goes to her, while Vaibhavi rooted for Shilpa", quips the source.

Now poor Juhi was left in confusion of what to do. "At last she chose Shilpa but got emotional and cried on the eviction of Bhagyashree. The actress took her elimination sportingly and said that 'Shilpa deserved to stay back'".

The short stay of Bhagyashree in the Jhalak house was not that eventful. "In the first episode, the actress with her partner Tobby confused the judges as well as janta. The message that the duo tried to give was not so clear and even judges agreed with that", quips our source.

"In the second episode she did fairly well, but could not win the heart of judges as well as the audience. She performed on Sridevi's sensuous number from Mr. India 'I Love you'. Everything was fine but our choreographers cum judges could not find the spark in her dance as well as the chemistry was somewhere missing", adds the source.
